Katsuaki Kamiji is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture. Born in 1954, he graduated from Waseda University and began his career in the private sector before entering politics. He served as a member of the Yokosuka City Council for four terms starting in 2003. First elected mayor in 2017, he has focused on promoting diversity, including the implementation of a partnership oath system for same-sex couples. He is known for his commitment to anti-discrimination policies and has been re-elected multiple times, most recently in 2025.
