Katsuyuki Ueda is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Shingu City in Wakayama Prefecture. Born in 1965, he began his career working for a life insurance company before opening his own insurance agency in Shingu. He served as a member of the Shingu City Council for approximately 21 years, starting in 1999, and held the position of City Council Chairman during his tenure. After two unsuccessful bids for the mayoral office in 2013 and 2021, he was elected as the Mayor of Shingu in October 2025. His policy platform has included initiatives such as the provision of education support grants for local residents.
