進藤金日子

Kanehiko Shindo is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors. Born in Akita Prefecture, he spent nearly three decades working for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries before entering politics. Elected to the upper house in 2016 and re-elected in 2022, he is affiliated with the Liberal Democratic Party and has held positions such as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Finance and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications. His political career is deeply rooted in agricultural policy, with a strong focus on land improvement, food security, and rural revitalization.
