Ichiro Oshiro is a Japanese politician currently serving his fifth term as the Mayor of Yawatahama City in Ehime Prefecture. After graduating from Okayama University of Science, he worked in his family's lumber business and served as the chairman of the Yawatahama Junior Chamber. He began his political career as a member of the Yawatahama City Council in 2003 before being elected mayor in 2009. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on municipal organizational reform and infrastructure projects, including the development of the 'Minatto' roadside station and the Nasaka Road. Despite facing a resignation recommendation early in his mayoral career due to challenges in fulfilling medical staffing pledges, he has maintained strong electoral support, winning his most recent term in 2025 unopposed.
