Kavinder Gupta

Kavinder Gupta is an Indian politician currently serving as the 23rd Governor of Himachal Pradesh since 2026. A long-time member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he previously served as the 3rd Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, the Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, and the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. His political career began with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and he later served three consecutive terms as the mayor of Jammu city. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent figure in regional politics, though his tenure has occasionally been marked by controversy regarding his public statements.
