Kees van Rooij

Kees van Rooij is a Dutch politician and administrator who has served as the Mayor of Meierijstad since December 2017. An agricultural engineer by training, he previously held the position of Mayor of Horst aan de Maas from 2005 to 2017. Before entering politics, he worked as the general director of the Limburg Agricultural and Horticultural Association and as a board member for various regional economic development organizations. In addition to his mayoral duties, he has served as the chairman of the Dutch Horticultural Council since 2016.
