Keiichi Ishii is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. A former career official at the Ministry of Construction, he entered politics in 1993 and has held several high-level positions, including Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and leader of the Komeito party. Throughout his career, Ishii has been involved in significant policy negotiations, including the 2012 three-party agreement on consumption tax reform and the implementation of the Ainu Policy Promotion Act. He is known for his expertise in infrastructure and public works, having served as the longest-tenured Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in history.
