Born in Flora, Illinois, she previously worked as a teacher at Newcastle High School before serving as the McClain County Assessor from 2018 to 2024. In 2024, she successfully challenged incumbent state senator Jessica Garvin in the Republican primary and subsequently won the general election. She was sworn into the Oklahoma Senate on November 13, 2024.
