堀研二郎

Kenjiro Hori is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kobayashi City in Miyazaki Prefecture. Born in 1985, he graduated from Tokyo University of Agriculture in 2007 and initially worked in the restaurant industry before transitioning to organic farming. He entered local politics by winning a seat on the Kobayashi City Council in 2023. In April 2026, he was elected as the Mayor of Kobayashi, defeating the incumbent Yoshihisa Miyahara on a platform emphasizing citizen-led governance.
