Gaku Takiguchi is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Arakawa Ward in Tokyo, having assumed office in November 2024. Born in Saitama Prefecture, he graduated from the Nihon University Faculty of Law. Before his election as mayor, he worked in the private sector, including roles in seafood processing and market research, and served as a public secretary to a member of the House of Representatives. Takiguchi previously served three terms as a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly, where he held various leadership positions, including committee chair and secretary-general within the Tomin First no Kai party. He was elected as mayor as an independent candidate.
