Kent McCarty

Kent McCarty is an American politician and business owner serving as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives for the 101st District since 2019. Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, he earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Southern Mississippi. Outside of his legislative career, he is the founder and operator of Java Moe's Coffee Company. In the legislature, he has served as Vice Chairman of the House Education Committee and has focused on public education and economic development. He notably voted in favor of changing the Mississippi state flag in 2020.
