Kristopher Wells

Kristopher Wells is a Canadian politician and academic who has served as a member of the Senate of Canada representing Alberta since 2024. An associate professor at MacEwan University, he holds the Canada Research Chair for the Public Understanding of Sexual and Gender Minority Youth and serves as the founding director of the MacEwan Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity. Throughout his career, Wells has been a prominent advocate for LGBTQ2+ rights, including co-creating the Pride Tape campaign. He has frequently criticized policies that restrict gender identity expression in schools and has served on numerous community advisory committees regarding hate crimes and social inclusion.
