László Botka

László Botka is a Hungarian politician and jurist who has served as the Mayor of Szeged since 2002. Born in 1973, he began his political career in the 1990s and served as a member of the National Assembly of Hungary for several terms between 1994 and 2014. A former member of the Hungarian Socialist Party, which he joined in 1991 and eventually led as interim chairman in 2014, he has since continued his long-standing tenure as the leader of Szeged, having been re-elected to the mayoral office multiple times, most recently in 2024.
