Laurie Schlegel

Laurie Schlegel is an American politician serving as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives for the 82nd district, having assumed office in May 2021. Before her political career, she worked as a sales manager for Marriott International, a pharmaceutical sales representative for AstraZeneca, and a counselor at the Lighthouse Counseling Center. A certified sex addiction counselor, Schlegel has focused her legislative efforts on social issues, including sponsoring legislation to require age verification for online pornographic content and supporting restrictions on transgender participation in school sports.
