Leah Hansen

Leah Hansen is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Utah House of Representatives for the 51st district. Born in Hawaii to parents from Tonga and New Zealand, she spent her childhood in Tonga before relocating to Utah at age 12. Prior to her political career, she attended Weber State University and worked as a stay-at-home mother. Hansen was appointed to her legislative seat in 2025 following a special election. She has expressed a political philosophy centered on government restraint and has advocated for policies supporting childhood independence and unstructured play.
