Leila de Lima is a Filipino politician, lawyer, human rights activist and law professor who has served as a member of the House of Representatives since 2025. Previously, she served as a senator from 2016 to 2022 and as secretary of justice from 2010 to 2015 under President Benigno Aquino III. Known as a vocal critic of President Rodrigo Duterte's administration, she faced imprisonment on drug-related charges during her senatorial tenure before being acquitted and released on bail in 2023.
