In September 2025, she was appointed as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Local Transport. Throughout her parliamentary career, she has held various frontbench and committee roles, including Shadow Secretary of State for Transport and Chair of the Transport Select Committee. Before entering politics, she worked for the public sector trade union Unison for 17 years.
