Lin Chia-lung is a Taiwanese politician and political scientist currently serving as the Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2024. A prominent member of the Democratic Progressive Party, he previously served as the Secretary-General to the President, Mayor of Taichung from 2014 to 2018, and Minister of Transportation and Communications. Lin holds a Ph.D. in political science from Yale University and was a key figure in the 1990 Wild Lily student movement. Throughout his career, he has focused on Taiwan's democratization, regional development, and international diplomacy, including initiatives to strengthen ties with the United States and European nations.
