Lisa Dempster is a Canadian politician serving as a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly for the district of Cartwright-L'Anse au Clair. First elected in a 2013 by-election, she has held several cabinet positions, including Minister of Children, Seniors, and Social Development, Minister of Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation, and Minister of Environment and Climate Change. As of May 2025, she serves as the Minister of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture, Minister of Labrador Affairs, and Government House Leader. Before entering provincial politics, she worked as an employment counsellor and served as a municipal councillor and deputy mayor in Charlottetown, Labrador.
