Loes van der Meijs

Loes van der Meijs is a Dutch politician and administrator who served as the mayor of Doesburg from 2015 to 2026. Prior to her mayoral tenure, she was a municipal councilor and alderman in Doetinchem, where she also served as a faction leader for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). She studied history and constitutional law at Utrecht University. Although she was a long-time member of the VVD, she became an independent politician in 2024.
