Lucas Schaal is a German politician and member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). Since 2023, he has served as a member of the Abgeordnetenhaus of Berlin, representing the Mitte 2 constituency. Before his election, Schaal worked as a research assistant in the German Bundestag and served as a personal advisor to Friedrich Merz. He holds degrees in economics and law. Politically, he has been critical of urban planning policies in Berlin, particularly regarding the closure of Friedrichstraße to automobile traffic, which he has characterized as lacking a coherent overall concept.
