Luciana Santos

Luciana Barbosa de Oliveira Santos is a Brazilian engineer and politician currently serving as the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation in the cabinet of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva since 2023. She holds the distinction of being the first woman to lead this ministry. A long-time political figure, she has served as the national leader of the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) since 2015. Her previous career includes serving as the vice governor of Pernambuco from 2019 to 2023 and as the mayor of Olinda.
