Luis Fernando Velasco

Luis Fernando Velasco is a Colombian politician and lawyer who serves as the Minister of the Interior. A graduate of the University of Cauca with a master's degree in government and public administration, he previously served as a member of the Chamber of Representatives for Cauca from 1998 to 2006, as a senator of Colombia from 2006 to 2022, and as President of the Senate between 2015 and 2016. He also held the position of councilor for the regions of the presidency before being appointed as Minister of the Interior in April 2023.
