Lutz Liebscher is a German politician and a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD). Since 2019, he has served as a member of the Landtag of Thuringia, and in September 2024, he was elected as the chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the state legislature. Prior to his parliamentary career, he worked in the Jena city administration and the Thuringian Ministry for Economy, Science and Digital Society. Liebscher holds a degree in political science, modern history, and economics from the University of Jena.
