Madan Mitra is an Indian politician from West Bengal and a member of the Trinamool Congress. He began his political career with the Indian National Congress and later joined the Trinamool Congress in 1998. Mitra served as a state minister for sports and transport in the first Mamata Banerjee ministry starting in 2011. Throughout his career, he has been involved in several high-profile legal controversies, including the Saradha Group financial scandal and the Narada sting operation. In addition to his political activities, he made his debut as an actor in the 2023 Bengali film Oh! Lovely.
