Mahmut Özer is a Turkish politician and academic currently serving as a Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey representing Ordu. Prior to his parliamentary career, he held significant positions in the Turkish education sector, including serving as the Minister of National Education from 2021 to 2023 and as the rector of Bülent Ecevit University. An engineer by training, he has also served as the president of the Measuring, Selection and Placement Center and as Deputy Minister of National Education, focusing extensively on vocational education and academic administration throughout his career.
