Maia Sandu is a Moldovan politician and economist who has served as the President of Moldova since 2020. A prominent pro-European figure, she previously served as the Prime Minister of Moldova in 2019 and as the Minister of Education from 2012 to 2015. As the founder of the Party of Action and Solidarity, she has centered her political platform on anti-corruption reforms, economic liberalization, and strengthening Moldova's integration with the European Union. She is widely recognized for her pro-Western stance and her opposition to Russian influence in the region.
