Maki Esther Ortiz Domínguez

Maki Esther Ortiz Domínguez is a Mexican politician and surgeon who served as the mayor of Reynosa from 2016 to 2021, becoming the first woman elected to the position and the first to be re-elected for a consecutive term. A medical professional by training, she previously served as a federal deputy in the 59th Congress and as a senator for Tamaulipas during the 62nd Congress. Throughout her career, she has held various roles within the federal health sector, including Subsecretary of Integration and Development of the Health Sector. Formerly affiliated with the National Action Party (PAN), she is currently associated with the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico.
