Manuel Velasco Coello is a Mexican politician and lawyer who currently serves as a Senator of the Republic. A prominent member of the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM), he previously served as the Governor of Chiapas from 2012 to 2018, becoming the first member of his party to hold a state governorship. Throughout his career, he has consistently been noted for his youth, having served as the youngest state deputy, federal deputy, and senator in Mexican history at the time of his respective elections. He is the grandson of former Chiapas governor Manuel Velasco Suárez and is married to the actress and singer Anahí Puente.
