Herrera Borunda holds a law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a master's degree in Political and Social Studies from the Facultad Libre de Derecho. Before his full-time political career, he worked as a lawyer specializing in commercial and financial law at the firm González Calvillo, S.C.
