Ruth González Silva

Ruth González Silva is a Mexican politician and current Senator representing the state of San Luis Potosí for the 2024–2030 term. A member of the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM), she previously served as the honorary president of the National System for Integral Family Development (DIF) in both Soledad de Graciano Sánchez and the state of San Luis Potosí. In the Senate, she chairs the North American Foreign Relations Commission and holds positions on several other committees. Her political career has been marked by her marriage to Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona and her stated ambition to succeed him as governor, a prospect that has sparked significant public debate regarding nepotism and electoral reform in the region.
