牧山弘恵

Hiroe Makiyama is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Councillors, representing the Kanagawa Prefecture constituency. A graduate of International Christian University and Thomas M. Cooley Law School, she is a qualified foreign lawyer in New York State. Before entering politics, she worked as an assistant director at TBS and held legal management roles at major entertainment companies including Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures. First elected to the House of Councillors in 2007, she has held various leadership positions, including chairing the Committee on Environment and the Committee on Economy and Industry. Politically, she supports selective separate surnames for married couples and same-sex marriage, while maintaining a cautious stance on constitutional revision.
