He assumed office in February 2024 following his victory in the 2024 Pakistani general election, where he represented the NA-259 Kech-cum-Gwadar constituency. Running as a candidate for the Pakistan People’s Party, he secured his seat by receiving 40,778 votes, defeating his closest opponent, Abdul Malik Baloch of the National Party.
