Maliyakhe Shelembe

Maliyakhe Lymon Shelembe is a South African politician currently serving as a Member of the National Assembly. He began his political career as a ward councillor for the Inkatha Freedom Party in 2001 and later served as the mayor of the Umtshezi Local Municipality. After joining the National Freedom Party in 2011, he held leadership roles including deputy mayor of the Uthukela District Municipality and national chairperson of his party. In 2019, he joined the Democratic Alliance and was appointed as a shadow deputy minister. He was re-elected to the National Assembly in the 2024 general election.
