A member of the Indian National Congress, he has represented the Madhira constituency in the Telangana Legislative Assembly since 2009. Throughout his career, he has served as the Chief Whip for the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the Deputy Speaker of the United Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, and the Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Assembly.
