Manuel Castro Almeida is a Portuguese lawyer and politician currently serving as the Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion in the XXV Constitutional Government of Portugal. A long-standing member of the Social Democratic Party, he previously served as the Minister of Territorial Cohesion in the XXIV Constitutional Government and as Secretary of State for Regional Development. His extensive political career includes serving as a member of the Assembly of the Republic, Secretary of State for Education and Sports, and three-time Mayor of São João da Madeira. He has also held significant party leadership roles, including vice-president of the Social Democratic Party.
