Damaris Silva Santiago

María Damaris Silva Santiago is a Mexican politician and social activist currently serving as a federal deputy in the LXVI Legislature of the Mexican Congress, representing the National Regeneration Movement (Morena). Born in Morelia, Michoacán, she spent significant time in the United States, where she worked as a social worker, labor organizer for unions such as SEIU and Teamsters, and advocate for migrant rights. Elected in 2024 as a representative for Mexicans living abroad, she serves on the committees for Migratory Affairs, Diversity, and Foreign Relations. Her legislative work includes proposals to reform labor laws to facilitate formal employment for migrants.
