María José García-Pelayo

María José García-Pelayo is a Spanish politician currently serving as the Mayor of Jerez de la Frontera, a position she has held during three separate terms starting in 2003. A member of the People's Party (PP), she has had an extensive parliamentary career, serving in the Parliament of Andalusia and multiple terms in the Senate of Spain. In 2023, she was inaugurated as the president of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP). She holds a law degree from the University of Cádiz and has been a prominent figure in regional and national politics since the mid-1990s.
