Luis Barcala

Luis Barcala is a Spanish politician and lawyer serving as the Mayor of Alicante since 2018. Born in Sant Joan d'Alicante, he holds degrees in Law, Foreign Trade, Business Labor Consulting, and Banking Law from the University of Alicante and Cerem Business School. He began his political career as a city councilor in 2011 and later held the position of councilor for Health and Environment. After the resignation of his predecessor in 2018, Barcala assumed the mayoralty and has since secured re-election in 2019 and 2023, currently leading the city government for the People's Party.
