Mara Lezama Espinosa

Mara Lezama Espinosa is a Mexican politician and journalist currently serving as the Governor of Quintana Roo. A member of the Morena party, she made history as the first woman to hold the governorship of the state. Prior to her election as governor in 2022, she served as the mayor of Benito Juárez from 2021 to 2022. Before entering politics, she established a career as a journalist and media personality. Her administration has focused on regional development and disaster management, notably overseeing emergency responses to major weather events such as Hurricane Milton.
