Marat Kozhayev is a Kazakh statesman and senior law enforcement official serving as a Member of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan since October 2024. He built a decades-long career in law enforcement and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, eventually rising to become the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs from 2019 to 2024. Holding the rank of Police Lieutenant General, he has been decorated with high state awards including the Order of Danat. He holds legal degrees from the Karaganda Higher School of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
