
Marc Gold
Profile
Marc Gold is a Canadian lawyer and former politician who served as a Senator for Quebec from 2016 to 2025. Appointed on the advice of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, he represented the Independent Senators Group before sitting as an Independent. During his tenure, he served as the Representative of the Government in the Senate from 2020 until his retirement. Prior to his parliamentary career, Gold was a distinguished law professor at Osgoode Hall Law School and an executive in the private sector. He has been deeply involved in community leadership, including roles with the Jewish Federations of Canada and the Parole Board of Canada. Following his retirement from the Senate, he transitioned to academic work at McGill University.
