Marco Antonio Rubio is an American politician, attorney, and diplomat currently serving as the 72nd United States Secretary of State. Born in Miami to Cuban immigrant parents, he began his political career as a West Miami City Commissioner before serving in the Florida House of Representatives, where he eventually became Speaker. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010, representing Florida until 2025. Known for his hawkish stance on foreign policy, particularly regarding China and Latin America, he also serves as the acting National Security Advisor in the second Trump administration. He is the first Hispanic American to hold the office of Secretary of State.
