Marco Scaramellini is an Italian politician and civil engineer who has served as the Mayor of Sondrio since 2018. Born in Chiavenna in 1965, he graduated in civil engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1990. Before entering politics, he worked as a professional engineer and served as a researcher in urban planning at the Polytechnic University of Milan. He was first elected mayor in 2018 with the support of a center-right coalition and was re-elected for a second term in 2023.
