Maree Todd is a Scottish National Party politician who has served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Highlands and Islands region since May 2026. Previously, she represented the Caithness, Sutherland and Ross constituency from 2021 to 2026 and served as an MSP for the Highlands and Islands from 2016 to 2021. Throughout her parliamentary career, she has held several ministerial positions, including Minister for Drugs & Alcohol Policy and Sport, Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport, and Minister for Public Health, Women's Health and Sport. Before entering politics, Todd worked as a hospital pharmacist for NHS Highland, based at the New Craigs Psychiatric Hospital in Inverness. She became involved in politics following the 2014 Scottish independence referendum.
