Maria Cantwell

Maria Cantwell is an American politician serving as the junior United States Senator from Washington since 2001. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served in the Washington House of Representatives from 1987 to 1993 and in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 1995. Before returning to politics, she worked in the private sector as a marketing executive for RealNetworks. Throughout her career, Cantwell has focused on issues such as internet privacy, environmental growth management, and economic policy, consistently advocating for pro-business Democratic initiatives.
