Marianne Alto is a Canadian politician who has served as the Mayor of Victoria, British Columbia, since November 2022. She first entered municipal politics in 2010 when she was elected to the Victoria City Council in a by-election. During her tenure as a councillor, she chaired the housing committee and represented the city on the Capital Regional District board, where she led a task force focused on improving relations with local First Nations groups. Throughout her career, Alto has consistently prioritized housing issues and urban infrastructure development.
