Marie Rimmer

Marie Elizabeth Rimmer is a British Labour Party politician serving as the Member of Parliament for St Helens South and Whiston since 2015. Born in 1947 in St Helens, she worked at Pilkington Glass before embarking on an extensive career in local government, serving as leader of St Helens Metropolitan Borough Council across three separate stints and receiving a CBE in 2005. In Parliament, she has held roles including Shadow Minister for Disabled People and opposition whip, and has been consistently re-elected in general elections.
