Marieke Teunissen

Marieke Teunissen is a Dutch politician and administrator who has served as the Mayor of Scherpenzeel since December 15, 2022. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), she previously served as a municipal councilor in Renswoude starting in 2013 and later as an alderman in both Renswoude and Oudewater. Before entering politics, she worked in real estate and area development, and spent ten years at the municipality of Ede focusing on land affairs. Her current mayoral portfolio includes public order, safety, and inclusive policy development.
