Mario Mattera

Mario Mattera is an American politician currently serving as a member of the New York State Senate, representing the 2nd district. First elected in 2020 and sworn into office in 2021, he represents a region of Long Island that includes Smithtown and parts of Brookhaven and Huntington. Prior to his legislative career, Mattera spent four decades as a member of the United Association Plumbers Local 200, where he served as a business agent. In the Senate, he holds ranking positions on the Consumer Protection and the Corporations, Authorities, and Commissions committees.
